Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information. If you create an account, we collect identifiers such as your email address and a user ID from our authentication provider (Supabase). We use this to sign you in, secure your account, and communicate service-related messages.
• Images and processing data. When you use the background removal feature, you upload images. We (and our processing infrastructure) handle those files to produce results. We also store related metadata in our database—for example, original filename, file size, processing settings, job status, and a URL to the processed result when our pipeline returns one.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure may automatically log data such as IP addresses, device/browser type, and timestamps when you interact with the Service. We use this for security, debugging, and reliability.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Service;
• Authenticate users and prevent abuse (including rate limiting);
• Maintain history and status for your removal jobs;
• Comply with law and respond to lawful requests; and
• Protect the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your images to train generalized public machine-learning models unless we tell you otherwise and, where required, obtain your consent.

3. How we share information

We share information with:

• Service providers that help us run the Service—for example, authentication (Supabase), hosting (such as Vercel), and image processing backends. They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
• Authorities when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
• Business transfers—for example, a merger or acquisition—subject to appropriate notices where required.

4. Retention

We retain account and job records as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes (such as security and dispute resolution). Uploaded images may be processed transiently; retention of outputs depends on how our processing pipeline and storage are configured. You can request deletion of your account data where applicable law provides a right to erasure, subject to exceptions (for example, legal retention obligations).

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. International users

We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hi@bgtfo.com. You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails (if we send any) using the link in those messages.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, email hi@bgtfo.com and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
